"The city of Bykhov, Mogilev province. On Wednesday, April 1, at 9 o'clock in the evening, some of the inhabitants of our city noticed an unusually strange air or celestial phenomenon. Above the very center of the city, some kind of fiery luminary shone very brightly, having an oblong shape with pointed ends. With on its western side there was an extremely beautiful orange reflection in the form of a small oval lantern; a light, foggy stripe was reflected down towards the earth’s surface, and in the middle, in the thickened part, a large dark spot was visible. The luminary stood over the city for about twenty minutes and slowly moved to the north. -west, on the city rampart, and, having stood for about 15 minutes, began to gradually move away in the same northwestern direction, passing through various phases along the way: either in the form of an irregular polygon with oblong corners, or in the form of a boat with forked ends.

At half past twelve the star began to grow pale and finally completely disappeared from the sky. "Kubey. On the night of April 14-15, at about 10-11 o'clock in the evening, a balloon appeared over the village of Kubey from the northwestern side, which was seen by many of the village residents and claim that it was no more than 3-4 minutes from the latter miles, and a height of half a mile from the ground. According to eyewitnesses, its appearance at first looked like a star of extraordinary size; upon further observation, it was seen that this phenomenon very quickly began to change, like the bright, large size and unusual shape of the Moon. made circular and wave-like movements, then swayed in one place, then fell and rose again, narrowing at the top and expanding at the bottom. The brightness and color of the ball often faded and reappeared, and such changes with it continued for more than an hour, and then it disappeared...
All eyewitnesses are convinced that it was a balloon, because such a moon or star has never existed and they have never appeared from the northwestern side. They began to observe it and, to great amazement, noticed that it was moving. First it came from the west, then turned to south, and the turn was at a right angle; after some time she deviated a little to the north and stopped at this point for an hour, so that she could be clearly seen.
With the naked eye one could see that this star was releasing a sort of forked light, the rays of which often changed their direction. With the help of a telescope, they found out that it was a huge balloon with two strong electric reflectors. On both sides of the ball there were two huge lanterns, one red, the other green. The ball remained calmly in the air, at times lowering, then quickly rising upward. He was at a very significant height. As for the distance he was from the city, it was no more than 10-12 versts. Among the reports about man-made objects, there are actually completely consistent with modern descriptions of UFOs. The magazine "Scout" (1892, No. 93) reported the observation of a light metallic-colored object during the day, with peasants claiming that it had the shape of a box, and soldiers claiming that it had the shape of a haystack (i.e., a dome). On the night of March 31 to April 1, a border guard near Raigorod observed a “luminous ship with several masts” flying with ever-increasing speed.
